October 2009

Soderholm Sales delivered two additional EZ-Rider buses to the County of Maui, increasing the County's total fleet of buses to 35. Approximately 80% of funding for these buses was provided by the federal government as part of the national stimulus package. Three additional EZ-Rider buses are pending completion in anticipation of meeting increased ridership needs.

Soderholm Sales and Leasing, Inc., locally owned Bus Dealer since 1989, announced today a successful Pacific Bus Expo 2009. The 12th Pacific Bus Expo, sponsored by Soderholm Sales, ElDorado National Co., ABC Bus Companies, Freedman Seating Company and Q'Straint was held on March 2, 2009 at the Pacific Club and attended by more than 230 people. On display were 16 vehicles including tour buses, school buses, paratransit, transit and ADA vehicles. Of particular interest at this year's Expo were the 2 Double Decker buses on display. The first of the Double Deck buses brought into Hawaii, is an Alexander Dennis Inc. Enviro bus similar to the open top Double Deck buses operated in Europe, Hong Kong and Las Vegas. It is currently on demonstration to Travel Plaza Transportation. Previously demonstrated to ENoa Corporation, the Alexander Dennis Double Deck Bus will be on demonstration to Oahu Transit Services, the operator of TheBus, the County of Maui and the County of Hawaii later this month. The second Double Deck bus on display and driving around Honolulu this month is a VanHool Double Deck Intercity Touring Coach on demonstration from ABC Bus Companies and Soderholm Sales to Polynesian Adventure Tours.

Over the next 2 days Soderholm Sales will be conducting the Aloha Bus Maintenance Forums at the Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel, the only maintenance seminars conducted in Hawaii for the passenger vehicle industry. At the Forums, bus and component manufacturers will be speaking on relevant topics to the industry and upcoming issues including new A/C refrigerant and the 2010 emissions requirements. The Pacific Bus Expo and Aloha Bus Maintenance Forums will be held next on March 7, 2011.

November 2008
Soderholm Sales completed delivery of 10 new ADA buses and 18 Amerivans with ramps to the City and County of Honolulu for the HandiVan paratransit demand response bus service. The Amerivan, on a GM Uplander minivan chassis, is a new type of vehicle added to the City's bus fleet.

Soderholm Sales & Leasing, Inc. delivers the first of three new low floor ADA buses for the new Honolulu Airport Shuttle. These are the first Friendly Buses delivered for airport use in the nation. SSL is named #1 in World-wide sales for Friendly Bus Corp.

Soderholm Sales completed its delivery of 20 additional HandiVan vehicles to the City and County of Honolulu for use in its demand response paratransit system

Soderholm Sales & Leasing, Inc. delivered to the County of Maui, the first of three 40 ft transit buses to complement the cutaway buses already in the County’s new transportation fleet. We look forward to delivering six 35 ft buses later in 2007 and early 2008.
